Commonly known as Overberg pincushion
- A lovely compact shrub growing to about 1m tall.
- The flower-heads are smallish and grow in clusters (as seen in picture).
- This species flowers from spring to summer, with the flowers being yellow in colour and changing to crimson as they age.
- They are beautiful as cut flowers and eye catching as a garden feature, especially for the smaller gardens.
- They enjoy sandy, acidic soils.
- Seeds should be sown in autumn.
- Hardy to USDA zone 9.
